The summer exodus in Alzueta Gallery leads to the Empordà, more specifically, to the Palau de Casavells.

The space, of about 2000 square meters spread over eight exhibition halls, is located in a small medieval village in the Baix Empordà, a region bathed by the sea but with an interior full of yellow fields and a nature that invites you to disconnect from the world. The gallery is submerged in a historic building whose origins date back to the 14th century.

The story of this building is narrated by a series of renovations that have taken place over more than 400 years, in which it has gone from being a fortified building, to a residence of the ecclesiastical hierarchy, to a refuge for the inhabitants of the area in successive wars.

This ideal country setting, characterized by high ceilings, stone walls and natural light, combines perfectly with the selection of original works by our artists, ranging from young emerging artists to artists with long careers and recognized prestige.

Currently you can find pieces by artists such as Maru Quiñonero, Richard Zinon, Enrich R., Jordi Alcaraz, among others.

The inauguration of the season will take place next Friday, June 24, on the occasion of the feast of Sant Joan. This is the Catalan celebration of the summer solstice, when we all gather to commemorate the longest day of the year and mark the new resolutions of the new season that begins just when the summer ends.

For this special day we have asked our artists to develop unique and original works to be exhibited at the Palau. Join us on Friday (11h-14h/ 17h-20h) to discover their works!

You can also visit us every Friday and Saturday from 11am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8pm, and on Sundays from 11am to 2pm. In addition, in July and August we are also open the rest of the days of the week.

We invite you to immerse yourself in contemporary art in a rural setting and a more relaxed atmosphere.
