About
Lives and works in Berlin, Germany
Pius Fox’s artistic practice inhabits an intermediate territory between drawing and painting, where form and subject intertwine to evoke rather than represent. His work engages with the accumulated knowledge of twentieth-century movements such as minimalism, surrealism, constructivism, and cubism, reflecting on them to develop a distinctive visual language. Fox’s work focuses on composition, color, and medium, and on their capacity to generate configurations of spatial expression.
Pius Fox (1983, Berlin) studied at the University of the Arts in Berlin. Since then, he has held solo exhibitions in major contemporary art galleries around the world, including Bernard Vidal – Nathalie Bertoux Art Contemporain (Paris), Pablo’s Birthday Gallery (New York), Patrick Heide Contemporary Art (London), and 104 Gallery (Tokyo). In Germany, he has exhibited at galleries such as Galerie Christian Lethert (Cologne) and Galerie Martin Mertens (Berlin). His works are part of international collections across Europe and the United States, including FRAC Auvergne and the Albers Foundation.
