I feel colours in words, mainly in some letters in particular, that’s why I work with colour in an emotional manner. I cannot imagine doing it any other way. It is a language of my own.

Color and Vacuum is one of my most personal projects. It is an abstract body of work that I began to develop in 2017, where pastel pencils played a leading role. This material on paper became a complicated yet simple idea; the pastel, a soft and dry texture on a clean and vast support, that welcomes the shapes and colors coming out.

Brushing the pencil on the paper creates a dull calming sound and the colour palette has a therapeutic and harmonious effect, which all creates a personal minimalist language that helps me study my own synesthesia. The one that, from a very young age, makes me attribute emotions to each tonality, colors to each word, to its sound.

I spend so much time educating my gaze, my very own. But I have not arrived here by chance. The road of simplicity that defines my work has been a long and complicated one. For that reason, I recognize myself in what Alexander Calder said: “If an artwork has a reason for being, it is enough with very few elements”. It is important to know when to stop, listen to the void and let it fill. My works convey serenity and create a conversation between colour, shape and emptiness.
