About

Lives and works in Barcelona, Spain

Berni Puig’s artistic practice is born from a deep reflection on landscape, memory, and the material history of place. Trained in illustration and printmaking, Puig began his career with large-scale murals that translated aerial views of land into chromatic cartographies, revealing the human imprint on geography. Over time, his work has expanded beyond the wall and the two-dimensional surface, embracing sculptural and optical techniques such as anaformism and strappo. This evolution reflects a persistent desire to explore how color, form, and perspective can encode and reveal the passage of time, the erosion of memory, and the poetic potential of ruin. Puig’s process-based works oscillate between abstraction and cartographic specificity, seeking to reconstruct meaning from fragments and residues. Through layers of extracted paint and chromatic fields, his pieces act as quiet meditations on impermanence and transformation, where the surface of a wall becomes both archive and canvas.

Berni Puig is a visual artist currently living and working at Konvent.0. After studying at Escola Massana (Barcelona) and the Centro Internacional de la Estampa Contemporánea (Galicia), Puig transitioned from muralism into a studio practice that merges field research, installation, and historical techniques. He has participated in numerous international street art festivals and his works have been shown at institutions such as CCCB (Barcelona) and La Térmica (Málaga). Puig has received several awards, including the Biennal de Arte Contemporáneo TAV-CC (2023) and the Marconi International Urban Art Award (2021), and continues to explore the intersections of architecture, memory, and chromatic language through both site-specific interventions and studio-based investigations.
