Maru Quiñonero Receives the Premios Alfonso X Award in Painting and Sculpture

We are proud to announce that Maru Quiñonero has been awarded the Premios Alfonso X in the category of Painting and Sculpture, in recognition of her institutional solo exhibition LA EXTRANJERA, presented at the Palacio Almudí.

This distinction celebrates not only a specific body of work, but also the strength and coherence of an artistic practice that continues to evolve while remaining deeply personal.

LA EXTRANJERA marked Quiñonero’s debut institutional exhibition in Murcia and represented a meaningful return to her roots after fifteen years abroad. During that time, she developed an international career with exhibitions in cities such as New York, London, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Mexico.
