As the year draws to a close, we all take stock of what has happened, celebrating the achievements and goals accomplished and focusing on those issues that are still pending. For some people, a time to reflect, to become aware of the present and to consider changes and challenges for the future.
It is in this spirit of introspection that «Under the Skin», the new exhibition  by Barcelona-based artist Bruno Ollé, is framed.
An artist whose career has grown along with the gallery over the years, and that decided to go out of the box with this show at our Seneca Street Gallery.

Bruno’s work delves into exploring the individual memory through archives, found objects, diaries, drawings and video records. Tackling a wide range of disciplines -painting, video, sculpture, text, installation- he is interested in investigating the relocation of objects and collecting experiences from his environment. His processes are open in time and do not have a beginning and an end.

In this Solo Exhibition, Under the Skin, the artist presents site-specific drawings and a series of sculptures that invade the space. Everything starts from the same base, the same material with which the artist plays and forms each the artworks exhibited, whether they are drawings, objects or sculptures. The material is the common thread that connects the artworks exhibited and that lets him to create a unitary sense between the various works and exhibition spaces.

Beginning at the installation with a clear evocation to totemic constructions, Ollé arranges these totems representing the pillars of life on which he has been build up. He materializes his own emotional search filled with memories and experiences, recreating a sort of sacred, intimate space that ends up becoming a monumental work, a symbol of rootedness, of belonging to a group, a family.

The exhibition is followed by a group of works in a way the seem been extracted from the same source, the pillars, conceived as the «memory» of the artist. Consisting in several depictions of the Ollé’s constant thoughts, fears and challenges. These are shown on both gallery spaces, and some of them are presented on a wall constructed by the artist himself in this material, in a different colour, a double skin that partially covers the gallery.
