October Exhibitions
back to newsStarting from October, every month we will hold 3 different exhibitions by our represented artists in the different spaces of our gallery. During the month of October we showed the newest artworks by Spanish artists Antonio Gonzalez, Isabel Servera and Teo Soriano.
Antonio Gonzalez is an artist based in Valencia, Spain. He explores the geometric abstraction field, from an almost monochrome perspective, creating artworks using primary colors and black and white. The show, displayed in the XL space, had a selection of original and one of a kind wooden sculptures together with original paintings and his well known assemblages in carton board and wood. One special thing about the exhibition was that it was curated in collaboration with the artist and that he was part, even from the distance, of the layout of the exhibition as well.
In the other exhibition room we showed the oil on canvas paintings by Xevi Solá Serra. Following the successful solo presentation that the artist did this summer at our countryside gallery Palau de Casavells, «MUTE» was a show at our L space that highlighted how the artist’s style is approaching a less narrative and more visually rich style. Using thick oil strokes the Catalan artist portraits original and daring characters wearing bold and colorful garments, over delicate monochrome backgrounds.
Last but not least, Teo Soriano’s solo exhibition showed the artworks made by the artist over the last few years. From the north of Spain, Soriano is a well known artist working with mixed media and the impasto technique, currently not producing due to his health condition, as a gallery we are representing his state, allowing collectors to acquire the works he produced during his most active years.
Definitely three different shows to enjoy, that treat art from different perspectives, from the «cold» but elegant geometric expression of Gonzalez, to the gestural strokes of Soriano and the bold portraits from Sola Serra, these artists are a living proof of how Spanish art can not be categorized.
